Nepali (Preeti font) compatibility issues

Question

Hello! 
 Has anyone out there had issues aligning and translating English>Nepali files in Studio 2015? 
 When aligning and translating documents, the Nepali target text comes up as nonsensical groupings of Latin characters. Since it seemed that the Preeti font was not compatible in the Alignment view, I tried pasting the Nepali content by segment into the xliff file, with the same result. 
 I then also set the Nepali font adaptation to Preeti, which the target Word file is in, but that does not seem to help. 
 The odd thing is that about 1 in 100 segments WILL appear correctly in Preeti. 
 Has anyone faced this issue? Am I missing something obvious here? 
 Any tips are greatly appreciated!

Hi Kelsey, 
 I see the problem, and I have exactly the same one with no workaround yet. I have reported this to development and will update you when I know more. 
 In the meantime I tried this with WinAlign to see if this is any better as this is still available to you here: 
 c:\Program Files (x86)\SDL International\T2007\TT\WinAlign.exe 
 But I have the same problem here too: 
 
 So I also tested this with LF_Aligner ( András Farkas ) and again I have the same problem: 
 
 So the best I can suggest at the moment is to wait until we have some feedback from development or better advice on how to handle custom fonts from anyone in the community with more experience of this?

Hello Kelsey, 
 
It sounds to me as though is either a font issue (supporting font for Preeti not available) or encoding of the file. What happens if you open the Preeti file for translation in Studio... is the font correct? 
 
Can you share a pair of files to test?

 This should be your full list of windows fonts. I guess you have made sure that the best font for Preeti is associated with this language? Look forward to receiving your samples.

 What font should I use for this? If I open the word file in Word I see this:

Trados Studio > 1. Trados Studio
