Sorry for the late answer. It has been a while since I last translated subtitles in Trados, so I cannot say. I checked Cumulative Updates for Trados Studio 2022 and there is no mention for "subtitles" nor "SRT", so my guess is that this erratic issue should still be happening, since there have been no fixes/improvements to that matter.

I updated to Trados 2024 recently, so let's hope this issue won't happen in this new version (unfortunately, I am not very optimistic for that outcome, TBH).

Hi Paul Filkin ,

I just wanted to update that, as of today, 7/7/2025, this problem still happens when translating SRT files. Trados crashed a couple of times today while I was translating several SRT files, so I am afraid this issue has not been solved in Trados Studio 2024.

I am using Trados Studio 2024 Freelance - 18.0.2.3255.

Can you send me any error messages you are getting so we can have a better idea of where this is coming from.  There isn't a general problem with handling an SRT file in 2024 or 2022, so we're going to have to gig into your environment a little to understand where this might be coming from.
