Error message "Cannot find central directory" when trying to add file to project

I use SDL Trados Studio 2014 Freelance on a Macbook Air via Parallels.

I recently copied my files onto iCloud Drive due to lack of space. I got an error message saying I had too many files to do this, but the files were transferred to iCloud Drive anyway, however no copies were left on my Mac. I subsequently installed a larger hard disk and used a Time Machine backup to recover my files.

I'm now having constant problems using Studio. The latest one is the above.

Any help much appreciated.

  • I'm just trying to point out that everybody is responsible for their environment (and using appropriate settings, for example) in the first place... and that hoping for some miracle coming from outside from someone without a clue about someone else's setup and conditions is just naive.
We had this discussion about "being 'just translator', not computer-person" the other day... the outcome is pretty clear - as soon as one starts using computer as a working tool, one MUST start understanding how computer things work. Knowing the working tools is essential, no matter if it's something as simple as hammer, or a computer.
