The cursor in the Target column constantly disappears and I never know where it is! I just have to guess and start typing to see where it is! How do I fix that? This problem started when I upgrade from Studio 2015 to 2021.

I discussed this with the development team and they have noted that sometimes the term view steals the focus and this may be what's making the cursor disappear, similarly for the translation preview. The logs we received from Juraj yesterday show that terminology was in use. Can you all confirm whether the issue reproduces if you don't use terminology or the preview? So close these windows and don't use them for a bit. This behaviour is definitely inconsistent and we have not been able to reproduce it ourselves which makes it quite hard to figure out what is deactivating the cursor.
Thanks for your help.
fyi.

Thanks, Paul. I'm not sure the focus changes – the cursor disappears and if you start typing, text appears in the correct place, the target segment. But the cursor still does not show up.
Plus, after confirming the segment without cursor, the next segment is usually OK, cursor shows up normally. Then, at random intervals, it disappears again. It's completely erratic.
Dear forum members,
I would like to apologize for my lack of computer knowledge. My problems with cursor jumping around are probably unrelated to Trados Studio 2021. I managed to fix it in a very primitive way: I just turned off the touchpad.
Thank you for the information Paul.
I can't reproduce it either. It occurs at random. When it happens, I click anywhere at the first line of a segment and press Home to make sure that the invisible cursor is supposedly at the very beginning of the segment, and then I press Ctrl+right arrow while counting keystrokes to understand where the cursor is at the moment. Then I start typing. If the text appears at the right place, I just go on. If not, then I count keystrokes again as many times as I need to reach the right position.
To be honest, this issue seems minor to me now. It doesn't happen too often, but even when it does, I have got used to handle it in the above described manner.
Hi Stepan Konev
Try clicking your mouse in the Translation Results window and then clicking back in the Editor window.
If we are having the same problem, then the cursor will appear again.
Thanks. Will try it too. So far I turned off the touchpad feature as Juraj Holic mentioned above. Physically, I don't have any touchpad device, but Windows settings allow using it when it fits the device (not sure how exactly it is worded in English, but from Russian it translates to "Use this mode when it fits the device" (by default); I switched it to "Never use the touchpad mode".
Just thought I'd pitch in. As of yesterday, I have the same issue. Midst translation of a document with no TM leverage, suddenly, each time I hit Ctrl+Enter, instead of going to the next segment, focus moved to Translation results (and still does). First I thought I had accidentally performed some keyboard command while switching between Media and Function for the function keys, but apparently, that is not the case.
My current workaround on my wireless Logi ERGO 860 is pressing F6, then focus jumps back to next target segment in the Editor.
Just wondering: Is your Translation Results window docked in the main Studio window with the Editor window?
The reason I ask is that a long time ago I tried undocking the Translation Results window from the main Studio window and putting it on another monitor. I quickly gave that up when the focus switched to the Translation Results window every time I confirmed a segment and I had to use the mouse to bring the cursor back to the Editor window.
Hi @Bru
Yes, I have it docked in Studio, above the Translation window in the Editor, next to Term recognition.
I also tried switching Autohide, but with no effect to this issue.

A further update, this time related to something worth checking associated with the track pad. We still don't have anything solid to work with but we did find this problem by accident. Many users today put small stickers, or camera slides over the camera on a laptop lid. We had a developer with similar problems to the ones reported here and it took some time before he realised what the problem actually was. His laptop was closed while he used an external keyboard and monitor, and the camera slide he'd stuck on the camera for privacy touched the track pad when the lid was closed. This intermittently caused problems until he realised what was happening. Solution was to use a thinner cover, no cover at all, leave the lid open or turn off the track pad.
Odd sort of story I know but I think worth checking just in case!
Also, I have not had any feedback to my earlier question.
Can you all confirm whether the issue reproduces if you don't use terminology or the preview? So close these windows and don't use them for a bit.
If I don't get any feedback we'll end up closing the case because we don't have enough to go on and can't reproduce other than these things:
