I did. I have got Trados Studio 2021 SR1 now; also did Windows update to 2021-07 Cumulative update preview for Windows 10 version x64.
Do you think I may need to reset it to a default state perhaps?
Also, do you think that de-installing Trados on one laptop and re-installing on another laptop may help? Or not worth trying....

I have followed the instructions in your knowledge base as I have noticed it is quite common error message for use Trados users.
Perhaps you should try these two things. First simply reset your window layout:

Location of the files mentioned in the KB for you would be here:
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio16\
If that doesn't help then do a reset. You could use this app for the reset and this will also explain what you will lose by carrying out a reset before you do it:
But if you'd rather do this manually then rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart Studio:
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio16
So the path would become this:
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio16_old
If you can't find this folder then you need to unhide your hidden files/folders:

Eventually, I had to reset my Trados Studio 2021 to a default state- but it is working well now :-) :-) so I am very happy!
