I'm not expert in Studio, but offer you to open C:\Users\YOUr_USER\AppData\Roaming\SDL\Sdl Trados Studio\16\Plugins\Packages and check it - maybe it contains multiple TBM Lite packages.

In previous conversation few months ago you confirmed that import from TBM Lite to TBM Essential worked, see here:

But in this thread you say that you can't use TBM 6 Essential. Can you please clarify?

Many thanks for your prompt and efficient replies. 

Although the first two options to rename "Plugins" didn't work, I did find two versions of the BMLite Plugin and have removed the earlier one and now Studio is working again.

Also, I wanted to clarify to Eugene that after our conversation months ago, I didn't have the time to try the import and was still using BMLite (SDL/RWS kindled extended the license for me so I could have time to try it). (I think it was a different person who confirmed the import worked.)

However, I can now also confirm that the import works for me with the latest version of the BMLite plugin. I have just done it and the invoices are there (although not the client data for some reason).

Thanks Trini! Yes indeed, I also noticed that and edited my answer with a note that it was from another person.

Anyway, strange that after update you've got to separate packages for the same plugin. But great that it's solved.

You say that clients were not imported. So, you've got your jobs and invoices but with empty Client field? If so, this is bug I think. Can you please confirm? We can then make necessary fixes in a next update.

Yes, I confirm that my invoices and jobs are there but the client list is empty and also, the invoices don't have any clients assigned to them, which means I will have to add them manually to a large number of invoices if I want to make use of that information. :-(

It would be good to know if this has happened to other users too.

Hello, Trinidad,

I confirm - customers aren't copied correctly when moving from Lite to Essential. Need to fix this and release a new version of TBM Lite to make it working correctly. Then, you can re-export and get correct data in the Essential version. We will need few days to implement and deliver this fix. Sorry for inconveniences.

Unfortunately, I now have another problem in BM Essential. It's stuck on an error and doesn't reload so I can't use it at all. :-(

Please let me know if I should log this as a separate issue under BM Essential.

I seem to have been very unlucky with this program and I'm close to giving up altogether.and go back to my old trusted Excel invoices :-(

Before I attempted to install the BMLite plugin to do the data migration, I also decided to install the latest version of BM Essential (6.1).

See below screenshot of the Console. Hopefully it can help:

My OS is in Spanish so the error message displays in spanish too. The translation would be something like this:

The requested object could not be loaded because it couldn't be found in the dataset. It may have been deleted or purged. If you see this message again for the same list object, the reference integrity of the database may be damaged. In that case, contact your administrator.

Fully understand you, Trinidad. Hard to say what happened - for some reason database integrity was corrupted, and application fails to load some data from database (in other words, there is a reference to Service type which actually was deleted). It's possible to manually fix this problem, but since you're just testing it, you can try simply delete two following files and start from scratch:

• app_install_folder\resources\bin\appsettings_global.json
• app_install_folder\resources\bin\database\tbmdb.sqlite

Could be great to find a reason why that could happen. As I understand, you tried to import data from TBM Lite. But after that all worked well? Did you notice anything (some actions) after which application stopped to run?

If that still matters, we will probably release TBM Lite update today - fix for exporting data is ready.

Many thanks for your tips. I have deleted the two files and have been able to open the application, which is of course completely empty again. 

I did delete some service types because I had entered some manually before doing the data import and they were duplicates. Are you saying that you can't delete any service types or the application will stop working altogether?

I look forward to the new TBM Lite update with the fixed exporting of data.

Otherwise, is it possible to just buy a separate licence of TBM Lite so I can carry on using it?

Of course not! I think that this is bug. In normal case, application wouldn't allow to delete any data if this is referenced somewhere else. You can try for example to open fuzzy types list and delete one of fuzzy types. It won't be allowed, because they are used in some fuzzy schema. And the same applies to all data. So, this is a single case, I will find an issue and fix by next update as well.

I'm not sure, but I think that the answer is Yes. Tbm Lite is sold separately, and I believe it's available for purchasing. (personal opinion: I'd recommend Essential, as all development efforts are directed into this application).

Letting you know that it was fixed and will be included in the next update. This particular error occurred because these fields were not tracked by the database and thus didn't prevent from deleting service type:

Fix is included in the next update (6.1.1) due to release next week.

I'll wait to download the latest version of BMLite and BM Essential next week and see if I can then get the full dataset to work and the the json export to include client data and finally move on. :-)

I have checked whether I can purchase a separate BMLite license but it's not available anywhere. I understand that all efforts are concentrated on BM Essential now but you can imagine how frustrating it is since this isn't working properly yet so I can't issue any invoices from there yet (or rather, I can, but only if I enter data manually which will be overriden by the data import when I can do it again including client data).

I do appreciate all your efforts and and prompt solutions to my problems :-)

I'm afraid I can't because when I upgraded to BM Essential, the license for BMLite stopped working. :-(

It was kindly extended by SDL but it has now expired again.

When I try to issue an invoice, I get the following message:

This is why I was asking about buying a separate license for BMLite but since BM Essential is the new product targeted at freelancers (and although different to BMLite, it is essentially the newer version of it), it's not available to purchase anymore (at least I couldn't find it).
