Studio doesn't open after trying to install Business_Manager_Lite2021.5.3.5.plugin in order to migrate my MBLite 5.0 data to MB Essential 6.1

This is the error I get:

Error message window titled 'Error' with a red X icon, indicating that 'Sdl.Desktop.Platform.CommandBars.IActionService' could not be started. It includes details such as Type, HelpLink, Source, HRESULT, and Stacktrace with system exception information.

I'm in a panic as I can now not only not work with BMLite or Essential but not even with Studio.

Please let me know how to solve this.

  • I did delete some service types because I had entered some manually before doing the data import and they were duplicates. Are you saying that you can't delete any service types or the application will stop working altogether?

    Of course not! I think that this is bug. In normal case, application wouldn't allow to delete any data if this is referenced somewhere else. You can try for example to open fuzzy types list and delete one of fuzzy types. It won't be allowed, because they are used in some fuzzy schema. And the same applies to all data. So, this is a single case, I will find an issue and fix by next update as well.

    Otherwise, is it possible to just buy a separate licence of TBM Lite so I can carry on using it?

    I'm not sure, but I think that the answer is Yes. Tbm Lite is sold separately, and I believe it's available for purchasing. (personal opinion: I'd recommend Essential, as all development efforts are directed into this application).
