Studio doesn't open after trying to install Business_Manager_Lite2021.5.3.5.plugin in order to migrate my MBLite 5.0 data to MB Essential 6.1

This is the error I get:

Error message window titled 'Error' with a red X icon, indicating that 'Sdl.Desktop.Platform.CommandBars.IActionService' could not be started. It includes details such as Type, HelpLink, Source, HRESULT, and Stacktrace with system exception information.

I'm in a panic as I can now not only not work with BMLite or Essential but not even with Studio.

Please let me know how to solve this.

  • Fully understand you, Trinidad. Hard to say what happened - for some reason database integrity was corrupted, and application fails to load some data from database (in other words, there is a reference to Service type which actually was deleted). It's possible to manually fix this problem, but since you're just testing it, you can try simply delete two following files and start from scratch:

    • app_install_folder\resources\bin\appsettings_global.json
    • app_install_folder\resources\bin\database\tbmdb.sqlite

    Could be great to find a reason why that could happen. As I understand, you tried to import data from TBM Lite. But after that all worked well? Did you notice anything (some actions) after which application stopped to run?

    If that still matters, we will probably release TBM Lite update today - fix for exporting data is ready.
