Error "No reference to the project is known"

After having updated Studio 2015 (SR2) I get the above message.

I get the message: "No reference to the project is known", when I try to open a project in Studio. If I continue, Multiterm is not working - it says that the system cannot connect to my Multiterm file.
When closing the Studio and starting it again, Studio and MT seem to be working again.

I have tried to repair Studio 2015 without any luck. This appears on both my computers which are running with two different virus programmes. Windows Defender on my stationary comp. and on my laptop I have AVG.

The operating system on both computers is Windows 10 which is updated.

Hope I can get help here :-)

  • Hi Mette,

It sounds as though you have a corrupted entry in your projects file. Can you rename your projects.xml file to projects.xml_old or something similar. Then restart Studio. You can find this file here:

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\Documents\Studio 2015\Projects\projects.xml

You will lose the list of projects in Studio, but not the projects themselves. Now add them back in again one at a time by using the Open Project command (Ctrl+O) in Studio and browse to the location of your projects to select the sdlproj file for each one.

    This may resolve the problem.

    Regards
