Studio analysis difference between target languages

Hello everyone,

one of my clients asked a very detailed question about our Studio analyses:

If we have translated the same documents in several languages - i.e. the TMs have the same content -, how come there are some discrepancies in the matches categories?

Example: Same User Manual (.docx document) analyzed for IT, PT and RU (DE as a source):

New words IT: 264

New words PT: 310

New words RU: 297

-

Fuzzies IT: 2233

Fuzzies PT: 3122

Fuzzies RU: 2910

Does anyone have an idea?

Thank you very much in advance for your insights.

  • Hello Anne-Sophie,

The best way to handle this is actually to use Perfect Match, but in theory from what you are are saying an analysis should provide the same results in each language. The matches are all based on the source content and not the target (Context Match excepted of course, not that this should cause a difference in your scenario) so the language should not make a lot of difference. The question really is whether your TMs only contain the content of the translations in these files and nothing else, and that the TM settings are the same for each one?

    Regards
