Trados Business Manager – End of Life Announcement

Trados Business Manager (TBM) has reached end of life. Following the discontinuation of TBM sales on 31 October 2023, all maintenance and support services will conclude on 31 October 2024.
What Does This Mean for TBM Users?

  • End of Services: RWS will no longer provide any services related to the installation or updating of TBM.
  • Existing Installations: TBM will remain functional where already installed, but the RWS support team will not offer assistance in troubleshooting issues, addressing reported problems, or providing further development for TBM.
  • Documentation: The TBM documentation has been removed from docs.rws.com.
  • Community Support: The community forum for TBM will remain accessible in a read-only format for users to reference if needed.

Installing SDL BaccS

This is how you install SDL BaccS.

Procedure

  1. The SDL BaccS installers are available for download from your SDL Account. Download and run the installer.
  2. In the first step of the installer wizard, the license agreement page, carefully read the information, accept it and select Next.
  3. In the Select Installation Folder page you can browse you folder destination.

    By default, BaccS will be installed into your Documents folder. This allows to keep the program installation data, settings and database in one place, which makes the program fully portable (you can move it to another computer, cloud drive or USB drive without the need to install it on another computer). If you change the installation path to Program Files (x86), the program will be separated from database and settings files, which will be stored in the ProgramData folder by default. Later you will be able to change a folder where to store program settings and database file.

    Note: If the application is installed into the Program files folder, and you want to keep database file in the same folder, then the program must be run with administrator rights.
  4. Select Next and then Install. When the installation si completed, a BaccS shortcut is added on your desktop and a group in the Start menu. Instead of BaccS shortcut, you will find Updater shortcut in the Start menu as well.
    Note: If the program does not run, please check that you have .NET Framework 4.7 installed on your machine (the setup will ask to install it, if it is missing).
