As an SDL Trados Studio user, you are likely to have one or more apps installed from the SDL App Store https://appstore.sdl.com/language/
If you would like to update an SDL AppStore application (maybe due to an updated version release), it is essential that you first remove the existing application from your system completely.
To remove an SDL AppStore application from your system -
- Please ensure you are logged on to the machine as ADMIN
- Start Studio > Go to the Welcome screen > Sdl Plugin Management
You will need to close Studio during the uninstall.
Alternatively-
...you can start the Plugin Management Tool without starting Studio itself-
To check that the Plugin has been removed completely from your system- navigate to the following (Package) folder
C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\15\Plugins\Packages ***
Should the app still be present in the 'Packages' folder- please delete.
Now repeat the process in the 'Unpacked' folder.
C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\15\Plugins\Unpacked
You should now reboot your computer before installing the updated version.
***If you are unable to see your AppData folder- then simply show Hidden Items
