Formatting not accessible anymore - SDL Studio 2019

Hi there!
I am having some troubles since the latest upgrade of my Trados Studio 2019. My client sends me packages to translate and when I open it now, the formatting is not accessible anymore and I am not able to export the target text in Word as I usually did. I was hoping somebody could help me with that matter. It may have a simple solution but I can't find it.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Best regards to you all,

Gaëlle

  • Hi ,

I'll translate your reply into English for the others:

"I replied in English that the file extension is .docx.

I receive packages every day from the same client. Most of the time, if I want to review the result of the translation in Word (I really like checking the document within Word) I go to 'File > Print & View > View in'

But sometimes with certain packages it's impossible to export my text to Word. In those cases, the formatting buttons on the Home ribbon are greyed out.

I suspect that the 'problem' comes from the client's file but I wondered if there was any way to get around it and force Studio to export my text to Word anyway and to still display the formatting."

Gaelle, I'm sorry I didn't see your answer 'docx' until I'd written and sent my reply. I just wanted to be sure that it really is a Word document that you have there.

Have you tried 'Fichier > Enregistrer la cible sous' ? This gives you the opportunity to save your Target back to its original format.

    All the best,
