File types determine which types of files can be processed as translatable files and control how translatable text is extracted. Examples of file types include Microsoft Word files or XML files.
Consult the list of supported file types.
When you create a custom file type configuration you give it a name and save it to a location of your choice. The configuration is populated with the default file types to which you can then add your custom file types.
